Eating healthy on the go has always been a challenge, but with recent airport restrictions and cutbacks, it has become even more difficult (for example, don’t try to sneak yogurt through security). Food isn’t always available on planes these days, and often, whether you are traveling by plane or car, the only food available may be from fast-food restaurants, which are less than eco- or health-conscious.  If you have special dietary needs, things can get even more complicated. The following are some suggestions that pass the travel test.

Make snacks ahead of time; portion, package, and bring. Even those that require some prep take less time than getting out of the car or standing in line at the airport.
