bikes under the bridge.

Friday, February 20th, 2009

The bike scene is everywhere. Sunday, February 15, 2009, the Zoobomb “Mini Bike Winter Olympics” took place on the East River Walk near the Hawthorne Bridge in Portland, Oregon.
Intended to promote the use of bikes as transportation and to have fun, about a hundred bike enthusiasts were still around at 4 pm to watch or [...]

renegade dinner club.

Thursday, February 19th, 2009

Breakfast is absolutely my favorite meal.  It has been this way ever since I was a little girl.  I remember frustrating my parents by refusing to eat “dinner food.” Once in a while we would visit Denny’s for brinner and I remember being the happiest kid on earth as I ordered my Grand Slam.  I [...]

I’m interested in the magazine, so far I’ve just seen the Facebook profile and clicked through to the Web site. I’m still a bit confused what the magazine specializes in? Is it a Portland city-living magazine? A sustainability lifestyles magazine for any city?
I wanted to [...]

Businesses compost too!
While shopping at Trader Joes today, nature called. While in the restroom “doing my thing,” I noticed the sticker on garbage can (where used paper towels are discarded) with a “Portland Composts” sticker affixed to it. How cool! I wanted to pass this along to other intentional business owners that might want to [...]

Thursday, February 12th, 2009

Sorry guys – you can’t use the “tough economy” excuse this Valentines Day.  While at a recent symphony performance I was made aware of a very cool thing some Portland arts organizations are doing during the month of February.
If you take your ticket stub from one place to another – you get a special discount [...]

what a night!

Monday, February 9th, 2009

The launch party for the February/March issue was this past Friday, and it was a success!
For the first hour, I helped check people in, and gave the first hundred new subscribers a really cool tote bag with goodies inside. Then, I went off to enjoy the festivities.
I enjoyed a glass of Willamette Valley Vineyards pinot [...]
