The inaugural “Having It All” issue was unveiled to more than five hundred urbanites, who packed the Bamboo Grove Salon in SE Portland to support and celebrate this exciting new endeavor. Blind Pilot performed, and there were lots of good eats, many bottles of wine, and plenty of Roots Organic brew to go around. On the way out the door, in|ur gave away trees with a tag reading, “in|ur footprint: plant this tree as a way to offset your other print subscriptions.

One of the goals of in|ur magazine is to have a light eco-footprint, hence the choice to publish on the web rather than on paper. Not only does this save trees and reduce waste, but the in|ur web hosting company, Digital Telepathy, writes off the carbon emissions they produce and encourages their clients to do the same.

The “Having It All” issue highlights stories about sustainable high fashion, eco-friendly commuting, farming in the city, and environmentally responsible music. Every issue of in|ur will cover topics ranging from conscious urban living to preventative medicine, parenting to spirituality, urban non-profits to thrift shopping--all in the hope of inspiring readers to live consciously for the betterment of themselves, their communities, and the planet.

Also we like a good party. One guest at the launch commented to an editor, “If this is your first party, imagine what the next one will be like!” in|ur magazine plans to have many parties. Enjoy the photos, and stay tuned to the website and the weekly newsletters for details.
